FAQ

  • Psychotherapy offers a non-judgmental, confidential, and safe space for you to discover and explore your process and beliefs about yourself, others and the world. Many of your beliefs will be unconscious and you might not be aware you’ve been carrying unhelpful beliefs around with you for a long time. By bringing your thoughts, feelings and beliefs out into the light, you can decide which ones to keep and how you want to live going forward. It can be a powerful process for change.

  • Counselling and therapy are collaborative processes. The more you are prepared to give the process, the more you can get out of it. It isn’t a quick and easy fix and it can be challenging - but I will be there to guide you along the way.

  • Counselling and therapy can be highly beneficial for maintaining good mental health and general wellbeing. By understanding the negative patterns we sometimes find ourselves in, we can move forward more intentionally and with greater purpose. We can find greater joy and connection.

  • How many counselling or therapy sessions you need will depend on what you hope to achieve. For some people and situations this may be just a few sessions. Others benefit from longer-term therapy. I always tailor my sessions to your specific needs and circumstances and will discuss your options with you.

  • Therapy only works if both parties are invested in the outcome. You need to get on with your therapist and your therapist needs to feel they will be able to work with you to help you. I offer a free 30-minute initial call to assess what you might need and how I might be able to help.
